Went on a Daytrip to some place whose name I cannot recall. In any case, they’ve got a pretty sweet Bavarian castle there. Pictures will come whenever I have decent internet access. This place is so freaking slow and the wifi seems to work everywhere but our room. 

Anywho, so the castle. Apparently it inspired the Cinderella castle or something … ? Fun fact? Anywho, so built partway up a mountain. There was a lot of walking up steep paths, but it was through a very nice forest. The water there was AMAZING too. If only it wasn’t a chilly overcast day. It’s either clear/cloudy turqouisey due to minerals in the water (apparently). And it just looks … delightful. 

The castle’s interior was never finished because King Ludwig II went bankrupt. Hah, so the castle tour starts out with intricately painted walls and stuff like the intricately carved bed of the king, which supposedly took 3 carpenters almost 4 years to carve. Then you go to the second floor and all the walls are covered in white plaster and stuff. So it remains unfinished (er and converted into a souvenir shop). 

Sadly they didn’t allow people to take pictures inside the castle (arg). I tried taking a few anyway, but they didn’t turn out. BLAST IT ALL.
