In Munich

WiFi doesn’t reach our room, which is unfortunate. Only two floors up … maybe the building is made out of metal or something. Damn it.

Highlights so far:

  • Airport is very modern and cool. I loved how it wasn’t busy when I arrived. However, it’s a pretty solid 45minute ride via lightrail from the airport to where I’m staying. The next flight to Brussels leaves at 7:30. Kind of worried about how I’m going to get there.
  • Really awesome central square type dealio. Very busy, lots of stores.
  • If you walk off to the sidestreets you can find some really cool restaurants hidden inside the courtyards of buildings. Hard to describe, but very cool.
  • There are unicycles being sold for 39 Euros at a grocery store
  • Saw a sign that said 3 Brez’n (Pretzels) for €0.99. Got in, bought them for €0.99. TAX INCLUDED. I love it when tax is included.
  • The Euro and the Pound suck the same amount when it comes to totally excessive coinage. 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2 … it’s ridiculous.
  • Englischer Garden is a huge, awesome park. Only saw one of the two beer gardens and it was extremely small in relation to the size of the park.
  • So much walking, legs are ouching.
  • This hostel is in an amazing location, but the noise in the mornings is almost unbearable for me (being a light sleeper). There’s construction going on across the street and when people are setting up their shops it’s very loud. This morning we were also graced with some lovely sirens. Heh.
