Happy Halloween

I remember quite vividly that in an episode of the Simpsons Dr. Hibert dresses up as a character he calls ‘Blacula’. I figured that was an ‘original Simpsons idea’ and didn’t think of it being a genuine allusion. Clearly I was mistaken.

Come on, people of 1972 — if this isn’t ‘blacksploitation’ I don’t know what is.

Having said that, I quite admire the stylized typography at the bottom of the poster. Very rough and grotesque. I’m also a huge fan of the two L’s overlapping the A’s.

Slow Down

I kind-of-sort-of-accidentally just ‘installed’ the Relatives app on facebook after getting a seemingly endless onslaught of requests from family (who else?). I should’ve realized how viral it would be. After installing it, you click on all of your contacts who are family members and it gets them to add the app or whatever.

Needless to say, once reaching that stage I took a step back and thought the whole concept was retarded (for lack of better words). I know I’m related to you; it’s not like I’m going to forget anyone. Yet.

Damn you, social networking.
