Sweet Freedom

Things have been pretty crazy lately. I’ve finished my first year of class at Algonquin, and have started working for a local multimedia company — Wavertree. It’s very exciting and should be an awesome experience.

As for the rest of the summer, who knows … I’ve got a few projects up my sleeves. In particular — I’m just thinking out loud here — I want to make a list-managing app (todo/hierarchical/goals/other?). Yeah, it’s been done before, I’m sure. However, I think it might be simple enough for me to grasp Ajax and learn some neat PHP trickery. In particular, I’d really like to learn more about object-oriented PHP for some reason or other; it would be good to know, I think, and it might be more practical in some situations? Who knows …

I’m also going to try posting on the blog more (uhoh, this has now become a meta-post) with the stuff I’ve been up to and what-not.

Woohoo!

    Hey Ben,
I’m glad to hear you got a neat summer job!
I think I may have mentioned it before but this site is amazing. Absolutely gorgeous.
Sounds like you have a pretty ambitious summer ahead of you, what with the job, and the blog, and the object-oriented PHP and whatnot (not to mention the list-managing app). That’s good, but don’t work yourself into the ground. My two cents would be that you should enjoy every bit of the summer while you still can. Run Ben, run like the wind (or a brand new Mac Pro, depending on how nerdy you wanna be about it)! Well, I guess that’s all for now. Have an awesome summer and I’ll see you in the fall!
p.s. What in the heck is a meta-post?

    Ehhh! Thanks :D

I RAN TODAY. Woo… 7k, and I set up a Quad-Core MacPro in the office the other day. I sit near it, too (though I don’t use it …) so powerful, so extremely heavy *drool*.

“Meta” just means something like “describing itself” … so I made a blog post (rather, a paragraph) about posting on the blog. Which is kind of redundant and useless.

HAVE A GOOD SUMMER TOO! It’s crazy eh, only one and a half more semesters to go? Yikes …
